The way you skate is the way you express yourself; it says everything about who you are. We want your skates to not only be capable of doing everything you want to do in them, but also be a reflection of your style and personality. This is why we build custom roller skates.
What do you mean by custom?
Custom means the skates are made specifically for you in every way. The plates are mounted to the size and shape of your feet and the type of skating you want to do. You can choose everything: wheels, bearings, trucks, plates, toe stops, and laces. We can even paint your hardware exactly how you want it. And the best part is this is all going on any* pair of shoes you want!
How much do custom roller skates cost/how does pricing work?
Because every pair of skates is different, the pricing will vary from skate to skate. In general, a basic setup starts at about $200-$250. Hardware for specialized types of skating like advanced park and street can cost more, but will ultimately last longer and perform better. Luckily, roller skates are one of the few consumer products left that you can easily swap parts on! If you ever need or want to change something about your skates, you won't need to start from scratch. You can even transfer everything over to a new shoe if you want to change it up!
When you buy a pair of custom skates, you're paying for the parts (plates, trucks, wheels, bearings, etc.) plus $30 to cover labor and hardware (i.e. all the nuts and bolts that keep your skates together). We do not charge extra for the painting or detailing of trucks and plates, nor will your choice of shoe affect the pricing.
How do I get started?
Come visit us! The best way to get started is to come into the shop. You can bring your shoes with you if you already have some picked out, or you can come in for a consultation first to ask questions, look at hardware, get pricing, and start to map out your skate journey. You can also reach out to us with any questions.
I'm not local - can I still have custom skates made?
Yes! If you can get us the shoes, we can get you the skates. If you're not local to the Rochester area and want to have custom skates made, call the shop whenever we're open to talk to Bettie directly or shoot us a message on our Instagram or Facebook.
